Holi!

How stunning are these vibrant, beautiful colours?

Holi, the Festival of Colours, is a popular Hindu spring festival observed in IndiaNepalSrilanka, and countries with large Hindu populations.
The main day, Holi, is celebrated by people throwing colored powder and colored water at each other. Bonfires are lit the day before, also known as Holika Dahan (burning of Holika) or Chhoti Holi (little Holi).
Holi is celebrated at the end of the winter season on the last full moon day of the lunar month  which usually falls in the later part of February or March. In 2010 Holi will be celebrated on 1st March!

Rain falling on a tin roof...

Our world is so special...

Ivory Dust Dreams

Ivory dust dreams,
Blown to the night sky,

Creep hunter, creep!
Elephants are nearby,

Scavenge for your prize,
Beneath the night sky,

Creep hunter, creep!
Elephants are nearby,

Stare through her soul,
Raise up the dart,
one,
two,
three,
Straight to her heart.

Patchwork light,
Bleeds through the night sky,
one,
two,
three,
Tears fall
from the elephant's eye.

Apples for Jam

One of the most darling recipe books I own is Apples for Jam by Tessa Kiros. This beloved book of mine is a cherished delight filled with divine recipes! The entire book has been put together with so much love and passion for food, it is truly inspiring. The thought of adorning my loved ones with recipes from the book is most exciting. The book is divided into chapters listing food by colour red, yellow, white, green, pink.....
Tessa Kiros throughout the book writes of her inspiration of childhood experiences and memories and how this has inspired her cooking. The book is illustrated with endearing, bright photography and whimsical children's art. With memories of daisy chains, ice cream cones, circuses, and four-leaf clovers, this book will bring out your inner child. With so much food being processed and bad for our health and hearts, this is warmly welcomed by all who want to inject a dose of fun and nutrients into cooking.

This book is one to treasure and pass on to others...a must for any domestic goddess in the making....

Oh la la! Arête Marie Antoinette!

Marie Antoinette is a beautiful film directed by Sofia Coppola. The film is an impressionistic retelling of Marie Antoinette's life as a young queen in the opulent and eccentric court at Versailles. "Let them eat cake!" This is a motion picture detailing the life of Marie Antoinette after her betrothal to Louis XVI. From shoes to scandals, this movie outlines Marie Antoinette's nature, and her dedication to a life of fabulousness and outrageousness.

Absolument délicieux!

Following a recent visit to Switzerland, I fell in love all over again with Ladurée.  Ladurée is a luxury cakes and pastries brand based in Paris, but has shops all over the world. Famous for its delicious macarrons.... absolument délicieux!

Beautiful Blossom

Blossom trees are just so beautiful and ethereal.
